Police boast of hacking VPN where criminals "believed themselves to be safe"
European law enforcement agencies successfully dismantled First VPN, a virtual private network service heavily used by cybercriminals for ransomware attacks and data theft. The operation, led by France and the Netherlands with support from Europol and Eurojust, resulted in the identification of thousands of users, shutdown of the service, and arrest of its administrator.
