European authorities take down prolific cybercrime VPN service

European authorities dismantled First VPN, a prominent virtual private network service used extensively by cybercriminals for data theft, fraud, and ransomware attacks. The operation, led by France and the Netherlands with support from Europol and 10 other countries, resulted in the arrest of the alleged administrator in Ukraine, seizure of 33 servers, and access to thousands of user records linked to cybercrime.
