STAT+: Kennedy names interim surgeon general amid vacancies atop health department

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has named Stephanie Haridopolos as interim surgeon general until a Senate-confirmed nominee is appointed. Haridopolos will promote public health actions and guidance. She is currently a senior adviser and chief of staff for the Office of the U.S. Surgeon General.
