PCOS’s new name is PMOS, a small letter change that required a big scientific process

The name of a common metabolic condition in women has been changed from PCOS to PMOS, following over a decade of debate on the need for a more precise and complete description. The change was revealed on Tuesday. The new name is expected to better describe the condition formerly known as polycystic ovary syndrome.
