STAT+: What was lost at the FDA

The FDA lost around 3,500 workers after Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made cuts, and is now hiring over 3,200 new staff members. The FDA has hired about 350 workers as of late April. HHS leaders are prioritizing earning the trust of and retaining staff.
