Ex-LAPD Officer Sentenced for Teen Crypto Robbery

Former Los Angeles Police Department officer Eric Halem was sentenced to life in prison plus 15 years for a December 2024 home invasion in which he and associates kidnapped a 17-year-old and stole $350,000 in cryptocurrency. The crime involved the use of police vests to gain entry to a Koreatown high-rise residence.
