Firefighters in France are battling a massive wildfire near Bordeaux that has consumed an area four times the size of Paris. The blaze in the Gironde region has forced the evacuation of nearly 220,000 people, with efforts to contain it hindered by strong winds.

A weak storm system is bringing scattered light rain to Southern California on Saturday, with windier conditions expected at Stagecoach, according to the National Weather Service. Rainfall totals are projected to be minimal, around a tenth of an inch.
