- Fall River waterfront makeover shouldn’t leave out affordable housing
Fall River plans to transform 20 acres of waterfront with up to 1,500 homes and commercial development. Despite a local affordable housing shortage, the current plan mandates market-rate housing only, calling for strategies that capture market-rate demand. This massive redevelopment is projected to generate approximately $1 billion in private sector investment, utilizing taxpayer resources from MassDOT and Fall River’s ARPA funds.
