- Novant Health investigates suspicious intruder at medical center
A patient at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center reported an unauthorized man entering her room and rifling through her belongings on July 25. The hospital and local police are investigating, but public safety officers initially declined to file a formal police report. The patient, who was being treated for pneumonia, claims the intruder falsely claimed to be sent by a doctor before fleeing when a hospital employee arrived.
