Stay up for Thursday night’s deep partial lunar eclipse

The full sturgeon moon will undergo a deep partial lunar eclipse of 96.3% coverage on Thursday night, beginning Aug. 27 at 9:23 p.m. EDT and ending Aug. 28 at 3:01 a.m. EDT. While the D.C. region foresees thunderstorms, the event will be livestreamed starting at 10 p.m. EDT for viewers to tune in. Seeing the eclipsed moon among clouds or suspended against stars and constellations is anticipated to be an awesome sight.
