The Supreme Court of India has asked the Centre and the Bar Council of India (BCI) to respond to a plea seeking a national registry for advocates and a social media code. A bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justice V. Mohana described the proposals as 'innovative' but noted that establishing a comprehensive national database would require collaboration with law universities.
