- Samsung’s memory chip employees negotiated $340,000 bonuses this year
Samsung reached a tentative deal with 48,000 semiconductor employees who threatened to strike, offering eligible workers average annual bonuses of $340,000. Under the agreement, all chip workers will receive 50 percent of their annual salary as a regular cash bonus. The strike threat was prompted by Samsung's bonus caps and competitive pressure from rival chipmaker SK Hynix.
