- EXCLUSIVE: City Council finds 4 Vision Zero actions were most effective in reducing street collision casualties in new analysis
A City Council analysis of Vision Zero data over 10 years identified four interventions—traffic calming measures, neighborhood slow zones, pedestrian visibility enhancements, and specific intersection treatments—as most effective in reducing street collision casualties. The study evaluated 9,562 intersections and nine interventions, using NYPD and DOT data to assess effectiveness from 2013 to 2023.
