The mayor of a southern Philippine town devastated by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake is pleading for helicopters to deliver food to landslide-isolated villages. The quake, one of the strongest in the archipelago in half a century, has killed at least 47 people, injured 688, and displaced over 45,000 residents.
