The Tamil Nadu government announced the ‘Super Clean, Super Campus’ scheme for 10,000 schools, providing branded bicycles to 5.32 lakh Class XI students in government and government-aided schools. It also plans to establish ‘Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Schools of Excellence’ offering free education and boarding for Classes IX to XII.

The Chief Minister's breakfast scheme will be extended to cover students in Classes I to VIII starting September 17. Previously, it provided benefits to children in Classes I to V in government and government-aided schools.
