- Woman nearly loses arm in attack by foster dog she saved from euthanasia
An Arizona woman named Liz Shidler was attacked by a dog named Benny, whom she had been fostering and who was previously placed on an euthanasia list. The attack happened in her backyard, causing severe injuries including an artery tear that resulted in the loss of three units of blood. Although Shidler underwent emergency surgery, she is still unable to use her arms and warns other foster volunteers about potential risks.
