Karnataka has identified 1,119 villages as vulnerable to drinking water scarcity and has hired 978 private borewells and 254 private tankers, along with deploying 35 departmental tankers, to address the crisis.

Officials are advising preparation of contingency plans for sowing due to a delayed monsoon, ensuring adequate stocks of seeds and fertilizers, and planning for potential drinking water scarcity if the dry spell continues.
