India's first dengue vaccine is nearing completion of its third phase clinical trials, according to ICMR. The country currently has no antiviral treatment or licensed vaccine for dengue and ranks among the top 30 nations with the highest incidence of the disease.

Brazil temporarily suspended its dengue vaccination campaign after detecting two deaths and serious adverse reactions. The single-dose vaccine, developed by the Butantan Institute in São Paulo, had been administered to half a million people. Health authorities stated there is insufficient data to link the deaths to the vaccine and emphasized the suspension is a preventive measure.
