    LA County OKs Pilot Program to Speed Mental Health Crisis Response

    LA County’s Board of Supervisors approved a pilot program to train emergency room physicians at five private hospitals to initiate involuntary psychiatric holds. This measure is intended to free county mental health crisis teams so they can respond more quickly to emergencies in the community and follows a 2025 state law enactment.
