A Miami-Dade school bus driver was arrested on a child neglect charge after leaving a sleeping 6-year-old boy alone on a bus, allowing him to wander through a neighborhood before being found by a passerby. The driver admitted she did not check the bus for remaining students after parking it at her home.

Michael Enriquez, a Miami-Dade County teacher at American Senior High School, appeared in bond court after being arrested for allegedly engaging in a sexual relationship with a student starting in May 2025. The student was 17 at the time of initial encounters and 18 during their final interaction on May 14, 2026. Miami-Dade County Public Schools confirmed Enriquez will be fired.
