Over 50 home care workers and supporters rallied outside City Council Speaker Julie Menin’s home to demand passage of the No More 24 Act (Intro 303), which aims to end 24-hour workdays for home care workers in New York City. The legislation, introduced in 2022 by Councilmember Christopher Marte, remains in the Committee on Civil Service and Labor. Protestors highlighted challenges such as mandatory 24-hour shifts and inadequate rest periods, calling for shifts to be split into two 12-hour periods.
