Iran proposes temporary Hormuz plan to give itself more control over transit

Iran has proposed a temporary arrangement to Oman for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, allowing Iranian control over one direction of traffic and part of the opposite direction. Iran rejected Oman's proposal for an equal division of transit routes, citing unaddressed security concerns amid US-Israeli attacks, and warned the strait would remain closed if its plan is rejected. Tehran also stated it does not recognize an alternative southern transit route along Oman's coast.
