Venice Pier

A woman drove a car onto Venice Pier, a pedestrian-only area, causing panic among beachgoers. Onlookers scrambled to avoid the speeding vehicle, as captured in a harrowing video of the incident.

Swimmers were suddenly dragged out to sea by powerful waves near Venice Pier in California. A witness described the currents as some of the worst rips he had ever seen.

Three rehabilitated sea lion pups—Mogul, Bronze, and Missouri—were released back into the ocean near Venice Pier after being treated by the Marine Mammal Care Center for malnourishment. They were rescued in separate incidents earlier this month, including one near the Windward Yacht Center in Marina Del Rey.
