- Maryland attorney general sues Education Department to stop school mental health grant cuts
Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown and 14 other state attorneys general sued the U.S. Department of Education to block the termination of federally funded school mental health grants. The lawsuit claims the cuts, which could cost Maryland schools over $3 million, are unlawful and threaten counseling programs. A court previously ruled the cuts unlawful and issued a permanent injunction against them.
