South Florida school districts are addressing teacher shortages through the Teacher Accelerator Program, which helps career changers transition into teaching. The program has recognized 200 new teachers, including Alexis Robinson, a former theater performer, and has expanded to Broward County. United Way Miami's Upskill initiative supports the effort as Georgetown University projects ongoing teaching skills shortages through 2032.

Multiple organizations and local governments are deploying aid and requesting donations to support disaster relief efforts in Venezuela. Initiatives include setting up drop-off locations, deploying search-and-rescue teams, and providing emergency medical and food assistance.

United Way Miami launched 'Operation Helping Hands' to provide relief supplies and services to Venezuela following earthquakes. Funds raised will be allocated through nonprofit organizations actively assisting in the region.
