Abdul Saleh, a New York bodega worker who had previously expressed safety concerns to a reporter, was killed in a shooting outside his East Village store. The incident occurred after an argument with a 28-year-old man, and the suspect, who was injured, had refused to pay for a meal. Saleh had advocated for panic buttons in bodegas to improve police response times.
