Trump Media and Technology Group

A federal judge dismissed Donald Trump’s $3.8bn defamation lawsuit against the Washington Post over an article alleging a bank linked to the pornography industry funded his social media operation. The judge ruled there was insufficient evidence of actual malice.

The Trump Media and Technology Group lost nearly $406m in the first three months of 2026, despite a 6% increase in net sales. The company generated only $870,000 in revenue during this period. This significant loss is largely attributed to investments outside of its primary operations.

Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) has withdrawn a defamation lawsuit against The Guardian and two other defendants over a report alleging federal prosecutors investigated $8m in payments linked to Vladimir Putin as potential money laundering. The case was dismissed without prejudice, allowing TMTG to potentially refile in the future.
