Fernando Munguia, Jr. was sentenced to four years in federal prison for making false statements about acquiring a firearm and causing a federal firearm licensee to maintain false records. He pleaded guilty to the charges in January 2026.

Michael Jason Brooks, a correctional officer, was sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison for receiving a bribe and providing contraband to a federal inmate. He pleaded guilty on November 12, 2025.

Karen Torres, a federal correctional officer, was sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison for receiving a bribe. She must forfeit $43,550 and pleaded guilty on February 4, 2026.

Jason Shane Ejmali, a 51-year-old from Silver Springs, Florida, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for attempting to entice a minor into sexual activity. He pleaded guilty on November 19, 2025, and will also serve 20 years of supervised release.

Lee Hughes, a 46-year-old former Pinellas Park teacher, was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for child sexual abuse offenses including attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor, attempted coercion and enticement of a minor, and receipt and possession of child sexual abuse material. Hughes pleaded guilty on January 30, 2026, with the sentence handed down by U.S. District Judge Thomas P. Barber.

Demontrae Fagan, a 36-year-old Tampa resident, has been sentenced to 33 years and 9 months in federal prison for sex trafficking three victims. Fagan pleaded guilty to the charges on February 5, 2026, with the sentence handed down by U.S. District Judge Thomas P. Barber.
