Taiwan began a combat readiness exercise called the Immediate Combat Readiness Exercise to enhance its military's ability to quickly transition to wartime operations amid increased pressure from the Chinese mainland's frequent air and naval activities. The exercise, running through Friday, aims to address the reduced response time caused by blurred peacetime and wartime conditions.

The U.S. and Taiwanese militaries face challenges in effectively collaborating on a joint defense campaign. A coordinated effort to protect Taiwan would struggle to operate efficiently.
