The settlement, secured by Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti and 42 other states, holds 23andMe accountable for inadequate security measures and delayed acknowledgment of the breach. The company's assets were later sold to TTAM Research Institute with enhanced privacy protections.
