Sun Fanglin, a Chinese scientist whose research on cell aging and tumor formation contributed to new cancer treatments, died at 58. He was the director of the Advanced Institute of Translational Medicine at Tongji University and former dean of its School of Life Sciences and Technology, having been treated for an undisclosed illness before his death on July 10.
