- A new Wax Trax Records is opening in Stanley Marketplace
Wax Trax Records is opening a new 1,000-square-foot storefront in Aurora’s Stanley Marketplace, expanding from its previous kiosk. The store will replace the former location of local streetwear company Abstract and follows a record-breaking Record Store Day. The move coincides with Denver’s Magnetic Capital acquiring Stanley Marketplace for $36.7 million, with co-owner Pete Stidman expressing confidence in the new owners’ commitment to local businesses. The grand opening is scheduled for July 18 with live music.

A rally featuring Hasan Piker and Melat Kiros was moved to the Colorado State Capitol after the Ogden Theatre canceled at the last minute. Kiros accused venue organizers of being pressured by Rep. Diana DeGette's donor class, which DeGette's campaign denied. State Sen. Julie Gonzales also withdrew from the event, citing safety concerns and tensions over Piker's presence.
