    Wind-driven wildfire prompts evacuations in eastern Washington

    A wind-driven wildfire, the Old Trails Fire, caused evacuations in northwest Spokane, Washington, burning 4 square miles and threatening residential areas. Strong winds and high temperatures accelerated the spread, prompting power shutoffs and a state of emergency declared by Gov. Bob Ferguson.
