A Catawba County man, Darren Bradshaw, was killed when a utility pole fell on him after multiple vehicles struck a low-hanging cable line on Highway 150 in Sherrills Ford. No charges will be filed in the incident.

A man was killed when a power pole snapped near his home in Catawba County after an 18-wheeler and an RV struck a low-hanging line, causing the pole to fall. A car was damaged in the incident, but its driver was unharmed. Authorities have not released the deceased man's name.

A 30-year-old man from Sherrills Ford, N.C., Dustin Lineberger, was charged with 10 counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. The Catawba County Sheriff’s office initiated an investigation after receiving information about possible child exploitation activity in Ohio, leading to Lineberger's arrest and a $250,000 bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 9.
