- Uganda hires Washington lobbyists to combat rights reputation
Uganda hired two Washington, DC lobbying firms, Moran Global Strategies and Skyline Capitol, to address criticism of its human rights record and advocate for lifting Ebola-related travel restrictions. The move follows concerns from U.S. lawmakers about the influence of Chief of Defense Forces Muhoozi Kainerugaba, son of President Yoweri Museveni, who faces accusations of repressing opposition and media. Uganda also seeks to distance itself from the DR Congo in global Ebola travel policies.
