Eight police personnel, including a station house officer (SHO) and two Bomb Disposal Unit members, were kidnapped by unidentified armed men in Upper South Waziristan after completing a UXO defusal mission. The abduction occurred during their return journey, prompting a large-scale search operation and heightened security measures in the region.

Section 144 was imposed in several areas of Upper and Lower South Waziristan due to security concerns and the movement of security forces. Key roads were temporarily closed, and residents were advised to avoid unnecessary travel to ensure public safety and facilitate security operations.
