Resisting a public officer

A North Carolina police officer, Karson Hyder, was fired and charged with assault after being caught on camera punching a woman in handcuffs during an incident in Shelby. The video, captured by a homeowner's security camera, shows Hyder slamming the woman to the ground and striking her repeatedly. The victim, who requested mental health care and asked officers to contact her father, was later charged with breaking and entering, resisting a public officer, and assault on a government official.
