Researchers found that sustaining microglial reparative function enhances stroke recovery by mitigating ZFP384-mediated mechanisms using therapeutic antisense oligonucleotides. Reparative microglia persist in the brain after stroke but become dysfunctional. This process can be targeted to improve stroke recovery.
