A new cancer technology called Trans-Arterial Micro-Perfusion (TAMP) is being studied in a Phase III clinical trial for locally advanced pancreatic cancer, delivering chemotherapy directly near the tumor instead of through the entire body. This approach may reduce side effects and improve treatment outcomes. The system uses a catheter placed in an artery near the tumor to deliver chemotherapy.
