PsiQuantum has received a $125 million investment from DARPA as part of its Quantum Benchmarking Initiative, which assesses quantum computing startups. The company, using photons as qubits, is among only two firms, including Microsoft, to reach the final stage of the initiative. DARPA scientists are now collaborating closely with PsiQuantum to evaluate its technology.

Microsoft has announced Majorana 2, the next-generation topological quantum chip, with qubits 1,000 times more reliable than previous versions. The advancement uses a new material stack and is described as a milestone for making quantum computing more reliable.
