A Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter crew of four was killed on June 30 while intercepting drones near Starytsivka in the Poltava region. The Brody City Council confirmed the incident and scheduled a farewell ceremony for July 7, noting the crew were decorated for defending Ukrainian airspace since the full-scale invasion began.

The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed the loss of a MiG-29 fighter jet during a nighttime combat mission in the Poltava region on June 27. The pilot ejected safely, contacted search and rescue teams, and was taken to a medical facility for evaluation, with the incident's cause under investigation.

The head of a district court in Poltava region was sentenced to 15 years in prison with property confiscation after being convicted of collaborating with Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB). According to Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU), she provided information on Ukrainian military personnel, recommended candidates for occupation authorities in Berdiansk, and promoted Russian influence among colleagues.

Russian drone strikes in the Poltava district caused damage to private homes, an outpatient clinic, and other infrastructure, injuring two people. Emergency crews extinguished fires and provided medical assistance to the injured.

Russian forces conducted near-continuous drone and ballistic missile attacks on Naftogaz infrastructure across Dnipropetrovsk, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Poltava regions from May 18-23, damaging critical gas facilities and injuring two employees. An Ukrnafta fuel station was destroyed, and Naftogaz CEO Serhii Koretskiy emphasized the civilian nature of the targeted infrastructure.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of cynicism after a Russian attack on a gas facility in Ukraine's Poltava region killed five people, including three Naftogaz employees and two emergency service workers. The attack occurred while Russia was seeking a truce to stage a military parade in Moscow. Thirty-seven people were injured in the strikes.
