A methane gas explosion at a coal mine near Quetta, Balochistan, resulted in 34 miner fatalities. All bodies were recovered after a search operation, with a probe ordered into the incident. Most miners hailed from Shangla district, and many were orphans with fathers who died in prior mining accidents.
