Pikes Peak

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is conducting an annual bighorn sheep herd survey on Pikes Peak to assess population health and trends. Biologists and volunteers are using established routes to document sheep locations, movements, and classifications, with results to be released after the second survey day.

Pikes Peak rangers have added e-bikes to their patrol fleet to improve efficiency and access remote areas like the reservoirs on the north slope. The e-bikes, which are quieter and emission-free, support environmental education and increase ranger-visitor interactions, aiding in the protection of the area's natural resources.
