Pasadena Humane

Pasadena Humane advises pet owners to keep animals safe during Fourth of July fireworks by avoiding displays and securing pets indoors. The organization notes many pets become frightened and run away, leading to a spike in lost animals around the holiday.

Pasadena Humane will begin providing animal services for the City of Duarte starting July 1, 2026. The organization currently provides animal control and sheltering services to Pasadena, Altadena, and nine other cities in the San Gabriel Valley and surrounding areas. It will replace Duarte Animal Control and the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society in managing these duties.

Pasadena Humane addresses the challenge of summer heat for dogs by launching an indoor workshop series starting June 13. The 'Fun Out of The Sun' program teaches training games, scent-work, and other activities to keep dogs stimulated indoors when outdoor walks become unsafe due to high sidewalk temperatures.

Two bear cubs in Monrovia caused trouble for their mother after one became stuck in a storm drain and another remained in a tree for three days. Pasadena Humane officials were seen attempting to access the storm drain to assist the cub.
