Sidney Terrance Johnson, a Los Angeles man charged with first-degree murder in the 2021 death of Bertha Hernandez on the Foothill Freeway, will return to court for a pretrial hearing in Pasadena. The hearing is scheduled for Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. in Department F of the Pasadena Courthouse.

Antonio Olivera, 37, is scheduled to appear in court Monday for a pretrial hearing related to a stabbing incident at the Sierra Madre Villa Metro station over 14 months ago. He faces two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon and assault by means of force likely to cause serious harm.

Sergio Mesa Fraire, 30, pleaded not guilty to a murder and attempted murder charge in a Burbank home invasion that left 69-year-old Arti Varma and her 25-year-old daughter Meera Varma injured. The incident occurred between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. on April 20, with the suspect breaking into the victims' home.
