    Police in California spot body of 5-year-old swept out to sea

    The body of 5-year-old Amada Mia Brown, who was swept into the ocean in Laguna Beach, California, on June 9, 2026, was found on June 11, 2026, 250-300 yards offshore of Christmas Cove. The child's mother and one sibling were rescued by bystanders, but search efforts for Amada were suspended by the Coast Guard on June 10, 2026, before her body was later recovered.
