Human remains found near Deep Creek Road on July 30 were identified as those of a missing North Carolina teen. A man has been charged with murder in connection to the case.

Human remains were discovered in Catawba County, Hickory, NC, during a search for missing man Claude Wayne 'Doc' Holsclaw. Authorities, including the State Bureau of Investigation, are investigating the remains, which were found buried on 4th Street Place Southwest. Forensic analysis will determine if the remains are linked to Holsclaw and whether foul play is involved.

Deputies found the body off Driftwood Drive in Granite Falls and transported it to the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy. The sheriff’s office is investigating the circumstances of the death.
