Nipomo

Alberto Tamez, a convicted rapist and murderer, is to be released from a California prison after being granted parole. He was convicted of kidnapping, raping, and strangling Genevieve Adaline Moreno in Nipomo, California in 1974. The release was announced by San Luis Obispo County District Attorney Dan Dow.

Deputies with the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office shot and killed a man who allegedly fired a shotgun at them during a call about a domestic threat in Nipomo. The incident occurred at an apartment on the 700 block of Hill Street, where the man was reported to have threatened to kill his mother.
