National Day Laborer Organizing Network

Two demonstrations in Pasadena on Saturday are organized by San Gabriel Foothills Indivisible and the National Day Laborer Organizing Network to protest the deaths of immigrant workers shot by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in Texas and Maine. The first event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Colorado Boulevard and Fair Oaks Avenue, while the second vigil begins at 2:15 p.m.

Demonstrators gathered at Villa Parke to mourn Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero, two men fatally shot by federal immigration officers in Texas and Maine. The vigil attracted about 100 attendees within 12 hours of a call for participation.

New Yorkers protested in Foley Square against ICE-related killings and Trump's immigration policies, demanding the agency's abolition. The demonstration followed recent deaths of immigrants in Maine, Houston, and Florida, with protesters highlighting ICE's aggressive enforcement practices.

Day laborers in Altadena plan to form a human shield along Woodbury Road to protect rebuild workers following last year’s fire. The action, organized by the National Day Laborer Organizing Network, will involve hundreds linking arms from Lincoln Avenue to Lake Avenue.
