- Hot again Today but Lower Humidity by Tonight.
Minnesota's Twin Cities experienced high heat index values today with mid-90s morning heat indices and mid-90s afternoon temperatures. Humidity will decrease by tonight, but the week will bring continued high temperatures through Thursday, followed by thunderstorms that may bring heavy rain and cooler temperatures by Friday. Wildfire smoke and air quality impacts are expected this week.

Minnesota and surrounding areas face hazardous air quality due to wildfire smoke from fires along the Minnesota/Ontario border and central/northern Ontario. Smoke causes poor visibility and health risks, with extreme heat exacerbating conditions. Wind patterns will temporarily improve air quality in parts of the region but leave areas near Lake Superior with dense smoke.
